Criteria for LIBC Membership
Criteria to become affiliated with the LIBC
Researchers become affiliated with the LIBC when they:
- are affiliated with Leiden University or the LUMC
- have a research project accepted by the LIBC reviewing board (for procedure: see below)
- are willing to share expertise and facilities on brain and cognition research with other members of the LIBC community
- actively support collaboration and interdisciplinary research on brain and cognition in Leiden University and the LUMC
LIBC affiliation lasts for the duration of the accepted research project.
Procedure for submission of research proposals
Researchers from Leiden University and the LUMC can submit research proposals to the head of the LIBC management team via libc@libc.leidenuniv.nl (see also INTRANET). Projects will be peer-reviewed by the LIBC reviewing board. The LIBC reviewing board consists of the management team and ad-hoc reviewers with necessary expertise to review the submitted project. During the review process, the quality of the proposal will be assessed, and, if necessary, suggestions for changes and suggestions for recruitment of relevant expertise from Leiden University and the LUMC will be provided.
Acceptance criteria for submitted research projects:
- high quality of the research proposal
- the project investigates the relationship between brain and cognition
- the project is feasible in terms of necessary access to facilities, existing manpower, sample sizes, etc.
